I paint Oceans, Memories, and Evocations with pastels, acrylics, and mixed media. I create colorful, soulful paintings that express feelings rather than specific physical places. I'm a Kauai artist and support women artists here by coordinating an island-wide artists studio tour for the Women Artists of Kauai. (I also recently joined the 7+ Artists Gallery on the North Shore of Kauai which is an art gallery collective of women artists) ....I really appreciate what your organization is doing!

Thanks to this guestbook, I am able to share my work with you.
My recent studio practice has emphasized the dual characteristics of natural and constructed systems that can both protect and confine. I use the metaphor of skin in this way as a permeable barrier between the interior and exterior. My recent pieces are verbs appearing as a frozen record of something happening or that has recently taken place. The choice of my materials reflects this in the way they change from liquid to solid. Plaster, fiberglass resin and latex demonstrate this shift.
If you are interested in seeing pictures and videos of my work, please click on my name to get to my website.

Enjoy and feel free to contact me,
Rachel Y.

It's wonderful to find a space and place for women artists!

I am a photographer in the Miksang Contemplative Photography practice. Miksang photography is a Shambhala Buddhist Contemplative practice that focuses on direct perception of the world, without conceptualizations; it is photography that connects the photographer with non-conceptual awareness. The craft is to capture a moment with the camera so that people viewing the photographs can then have the same experience.

With Miksang photography, there is no staging; no altering of the environment, the shot, or the images before, during, or after the shot is taken. What you see in my photographs is what I saw at the moment I took the pictures.

My work can be seen at www.foundworlds.com

Specialists say that business loans help people to live their own way, because they can feel free to buy necessary stuff. Moreover, different banks give college loan for different classes of people.

" In a series titled "Threads", Shirley Verrette cleverly weaves together elements of literature, art and culture to create unique story-telling paintings with dynamic compositions."

I'm a lyrical abstractionist. My art is resistance against an oppressive, male-dominated society. I subvert the male gaze by not indulging its hunger for images of women that fit the cultural template of beauty, because I believe that beauty is an oppressive concept when applied to human beings. I want fully human status for all women.

You can see my work here.
I also have a blog, Exiled Stardust where I write about art, feminism and life and I often feature the work of women artists.

My intent is to celebrate the strength, beauty, intelligence, passion and sensuality in women of any age. I am proud of the advances women have made over the last century and I represent that strength of character in my strong development of the figure's hands and feet.

Thank you for allowing me to post on this site! I am a woman artist in Virginia. I have been creating art since I was very young, and began selling my portraits in 1971. I am best known for my portraits and wildlife art. I love painting, and I enjoy painting a wide variety of subjects. I hope other artists will visit my website, and perhaps leave comments to let me know what you think of it. The address is www.djohnstonstudio.com.

Oil paint eventually became the principal medium used for creating artworks as its advantages became widely known.

WOW! I am so grateful to be part of this event! Newer to the arts, this was only the second time I have posted an entry for a juried show, and it was so exciting to be chosen! I consider myself "new" yet to oil pastels, having only been introduced to the media about 3 years ago. Thank you for offering such a wonderful opportunity to not only participate as an artist, but to promote the arts to our surrounding communities!

Thank you for inviting me to participate in this year's show.

At CyberCraft Robots, our semisynchronous orbit allows us to search your planet for Secret Robot Parts. Our mission: collect these items and reassemble them into Robots, Rayguns and Spaceships they were meant to be.

I'm honored to have my work shown among the many wonderful artists on display in the 25th Anniversary Women's Works exhibit. Thank you for all you do to help promote women in the arts!
